Explain the production problem

Useful observations include no ice, less ice than usual, a change in ice shape, repeated stopping, water around the machine, or a displayed alert. Tell dispatch when the issue began and how it differs from normal operation. Mention recent service or a known interruption to water or power. Avoid guessing which part has failed; the observed behavior is more helpful.

Separate equipment symptoms from ice concerns

If staff notice an unusual odor, visible contamination, or another concern about the ice, include that in the request. Do not serve ice you believe may be unsafe; follow your business's food-safety procedures. A repair request does not establish that ice is suitable for use. Tell dispatch whether you are seeking diagnosis of an operating fault, planned maintenance, or both.

Prepare for a discussion with dispatch

Provide the service location, an on-site contact, the model if known, and any error message visible without removing a cover. Existing maintenance records may give useful context. During a diagnostic visit, the technician assesses the reported problem before recommending work. Ask what is included in the proposed service and whether parts, further investigation, or another visit may be needed.
