Water, freezing and harvest are separate stages
Ice production depends on water reaching the machine, the freezing process and the release of finished ice. Depending on the design, assessment can include filters, fill valves, pumps, evaporators, sensors, bin controls, airflow and drains. The stage where the cycle stops is useful diagnostic information.
Maintenance is part of ice equipment care
Scale, cleaning condition, filtration and obstructed airflow can affect operation. Follow the manufacturer’s cleaning and sanitizing instructions; a repair and a sanitation procedure are different jobs. A production problem may require both equipment diagnosis and attention to maintenance condition.
